Various musings

I'm probably the only person whose "to-do before Convergence" list includes bathe the guinea pig and cut the rabbit's nails.

Partly because they both needed doing, but also because I don't want Boarding Bunnies to think I neglect my animals. I do work there, after all! Anyway, both are done, and both were far easier jobs than anticipated.

I'm ridiculously on track for my holiday. Except with regard to packing, which will probably be done the night before we leave. I can't quite work up to planning a wardrobe or anything. My theory is that nobody in Canada has seen all my clothes so who cares if they're new or not. I did buy the ugliest suitcase in the world yesterday, but the price was right.

Yesterday's shift at the animal shelter was kind of depressing, despite the abundant baby bunny and baby chinchilla pron (there is nothing cuter than baby bunnies, especially 2 week old ones trying to hop!) Baby animals are always easy to home, but we've also had a lot of elderly rats dumped off this week. Staff have already taken home the oldest and sickest ones, but we're rapidly turning into a rat hospice. There was also a pair of 2-year-old gerbils. Against my better judgement I've said we'll take them if they're still there when we get back from holiday. I'm not quite sure where we'll put them though.

In the better news department, I've finally started listening to Six Music. I'm in music nerd heaven!
