New York - what to do?

inulroWe're off in a week. Yay! I'm pretty well planned for mainstream tourist stuff, but am open to suggestions for goth stuff etc. Is St Marks Place still the place to shop for funky weird stuff?
I can't believe I didn't know about the existence of the Cloisters part of the Met (which is no. 2 on my list of museums itself). It sounds so cool. The answer to why I want to see this when I live in Europe is that US museums often have more money to purchase the really good stuff so it ends up over there. Plus, the views of the Hudson are supposed to be quite stunning.
No. 1 on my list of museums is the Lower East Side Tenement Museum.
Other than that - much walking around and looking at architecture. Deli. Empire State Building. Deli. Tiffany's. Deli. Get picture taken under the "Joey Ramone Place" sign. Staten Island Ferry.
Realised some time ago that I'm finally going to be in north America in Halloween shopping season. Will attempt to exert self control because the house is already drowning in Stuff, and both museums on my list have an impressive list of publications that I want to purchase.
Distinctly remember that I had Stuff to do tonight, but as I'm feeling like poo again (including stuffed up head which is just plain Bad when I have to fly soon), I do hope that aside from cleaned & fed pets it can all wait till tomorrow.
