inulroWoke up this morning with a cold & feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. Repeated attempts to get out of bed just didn't work.
On the plus side, this meant I could go to Kingswood to pick up my new glasses when I finally got moving ( erm - 2 pm) instead of waiting till next Saturday. Have since decided that I don't like the glasses that were going to be my main pair, so I'm going to be wearing the cheap ones for every day. Maybe. I suspect I'm going to end up wishing I'd gone back into debt to get more of the super-light titanium frames rather than have to adjust to relatively heavy plastic frames again.
Nick Cave is in the media everywhere at the moment - he's the subject of yesterday's Observer profile.
The National Trust sent us their garden porn catalogue. Lots of lovely plants. I'm especially captivated by the various berry plants. Our garden may be small, but we could grow quite a lot of the things I like. On the other hand, I have a terrible track record of buying plants and doing nothing with them. Not that I need to make a decision just yet, as I can't remember the last time it was warm & not windy enough to contemplate going outside & cleaning up the mess that is the back yard. (The house is the tidiest it's ever been. You'd better believe that's because I've thrown all the junk in the back yard until we get around to taking it to the tip).
