Squee!!! Retail and rodents

I passed through House of Fraser today. The have black artificial Christmas trees, along with some of the most goth as fuck Christmas decorations I have ever seen. The decorations are House of Fraser prices (ie scary), but I think the trees are competitively priced (though I admit to knowing nothing about the normal pricing of artificial trees). I think this is the year we are getting a Christmas tree!

I ahd a look at the Xmas decorations alst time I was in HoF.

They were almost enough to makee mee want a christmas tree again. But not enough to make we wwant to by a tree AND spent a good three figures on decorations for it. But I shall look at the decorations again after christmas and pick up a few bits and pieces in the sale.

John Lewis do a black pre-lit tree for £90. That's not too bad for an artificial tree (and it means no falling pine needles, which are REALLY annoying).

Not so much (the stuff wasn't even on their web site, thus the no linking to pictures). I'm probably buying the tree and the lights soon (the lights wouldn't work over there anyway), but the actual tree ornaments I liked were £6 (yes that's $12) a shot. Will be waiting till the sales.

The tree at HoF was £45, and the lights I want are £20, so that still leaves me ahead.

I love real trees, but a) mess, and b) sometimes I can be really allergic.
