I had an excellent time yesterday. We met up with [livejournal.com profile] diffrentcolours, [livejournal.com profile] greyeyedeve, [livejournal.com profile] flooks and flooks' girlfriend (who I understand has an LJ, but forgot to catch her user name) at the Bristol waterfront for some Mexican food, a trip to the Bristol Industrial Museum (because you never do these things where you live until people come to visit), and had a boat ride in the harbour on an old fireboat with water cannons.

I hope a super time was had by all; Jason and I certainly enjoyed ourselves. I'm paying for it a bit today, but I'm significantly less depressed than I have been.

I hadn't seen [livejournal.com profile] diffrentcolours in far too long, and I don't think I've seen [livejournal.com profile] flooks since I left Manchester, so it was great to see them again. I really do need to get myself up to Manchester in the not too distant future. Amongst other things, the People's History Museum apparently has new and improved quarters. Not that I ever went to the old one, despite being able to bore for England on the subject of northern labour history. See point above about never doing the nifty stuff in the place you live.

That is so true! Haven't been to a 'London Landmark' since the London Aquarium opened, which was quite a few years ago.

That boat trip sounds very cool. Do they do them regularly? (My mum's partner would love it, and the seasickness will be worth it if it means he has a good time!)

I'm not sure - it launches from in front of the Industrial Museum, which is about to close, and anyway I'm not sure if they do it in the winter.

Seasickness shouldn't be a problem - it only goes round the harbour & lasts for half an hour.
