4. Twisted by Jonathan Kellerman

An entirely average and pedestrian mystery. I picked this up because I'd read some good reviews of his later work. The premise sounds great - a murderer who strikes on the same date every year, same MO, victims with no relation to each other - but failed to keep my gripped. It's set in LA and is very location-specific yet manages to be completely un-evocative of the city (as opposed to all 3 books I've already read this year. The one thing they have in common is that they all bring their settings to life excellently.)

I will not be rushing out to check out the rest of his works, and I take back all the less than effusive things I said about the latest Ian Rankin and PJ Tracy.

In other news, I'm off to bed. It's been a while since I had to work a whole week, and it shows. That was before I had to expend 3 times as much energy as usual just getting to and from the bus stop in the wind today.
