Long story, but I inventively fixed my fax machine with some sellotape today. It's something stupid, but it made me feel really accomplished. Sometimes I love running an office with no money; I get to do neat stuff like this.
I've been disgustingly super-efficient at work in general and;
I managed not to reply "why in holy hell should I know that?" when one of the consultants that I don't work for asked me why one of his patients is being admitted tomorrow. When his secretary was in the room.
On the other hand, I suck because
I'm blatantly failing at the "not spending money" game. I have some money this month to put into savings, but about 1/3 as much as I planned to. I have absolutely no excuse - I have had no big emergency bills, no giant utility bills. I just no longer have any will power. I used to be really good at sticking to budgets. And yes, this does matter, because I'm quite desperate to get my loan paid off early.
My pay rise which was supposed to be quite good in percentage terms leaves me not a lot better off at the end of the month. Which is not my fault, but it sucks nonetheless. I suppose I suck because I've been so eagerly waiting for it.
