Aug. 3rd, 2003 09:12 pmThe good news is, I made it.
Had lots of fun getting ready to go out and listening to loud music. I miss getting all dressed up lots. I hate looking normal and boring.
I was, however, kind of disappointed, though that may have been more my fault. We ended up sitting in the "side" room, due to the comfy sofas. Unfortunately that meant that for most of the night we couldn't hear the music from the main room, but could hear the juke box from the pub downstairs just fine. We thought this would end around 11, but apparently the Hatchet itself has a late licence.
Some nifty obscure tunes that I didn't recognise were playing early on; but later on what I could hear over the roar of the downstairs juke box was mostly Very Metal (variations of speed metal and goth metal I'm informed, but it all sounds the same to me). My current favourite Cruxshadows song was played, I actually heard that it was on and I danced, but that was the high point.
Eventually we were collectively falling asleep so left - Joy Division turned out to be playing, and no one was dancing.
Aside from the other couple we went with, I didn't know anyone there. Normally that doesn't stop me talking to people, but I just wasn't up to it.
