Dec. 17th, 2003 08:54 pmIt's my day off, and my to-do list resembled a minor novel. I've done pretty well and have at least done all the stuff I needed to do. I don't feel particularly rested, what with having to make another trek to the branch of the post office where they keep parcels that don't fit through your mail box. It's further from the bus stop than is convenient, especially as my parents have shipped us something heavy.
I had to take the bus up to Kingswood Town Centre (shopping district of the next district along the main road) for the first time in a very long time. I keep forgetting that while the inhabitants of Kingswood are scary, there's some good shops up there. I got some good Charity Shop Stuff and looked around in a couple of Nice Stuff Shops, but my discovery of the day is that the discount shoe shop there has knock-offs of some of the boots I've been admiring in the mainstream chain shops downtown that I can in no way afford. Yeah, I know the quality is appalling, but we're talking about stuff I wouldn't be wearing much anyway. I didn't buy anything today, but it's useful to know.
Things I failed to do today: write up those book reviews and re-write my LJ bio, and try to do something about the state of my hair. I can no longer afford salon root touch ups, so I need to attempt it myself some time.
