The Saddest Music in the World absolutely rocked! It was funny, and sick, and very pretty. And about beer. So glad I went.

Warm & fuzzy feelings brought on by the Canadian election results: While reading the Globe and Mail article about how the Green Party got enough votes to get funding (which is warm & fuzzy inducing in itself), there was a paragraph about the independent candidates. Grant Devine ran as an independent and lost his seat. That just warms the heart. (Grant Devine was the Tory premier of Saskatchewan when I was a teenager and royally screwed the province over. We had bumper stickers that said "unemployment is Devine". Mucho corruption scandal was later uncovered. Not to be confused with Colin Thatcher, our Tory MLA who ax-murdered his ex-wife).

I went to register with an agency today to find out how unemployable I am. Then went in to work - my stand on not doing extra hours changed because we have a new doctor starting tomorrow, and I wanted to make sure he doesn't take one look at the place and walk out - and was reminded how badly I need to get the hell out of there. Still, I will never have another job where I can call my boss a hopeless sad workaholic to his face - the high point of yesterday.

It'll come as a surprise to nobody but me that we're going to keep Mr. Mouse. The smell hasn't bothered us at all (because he's being kept next to the fireplace, the smell's just going up the chimney), as long as I thoroughly wash everything in his cage twice a week. He's approximately the same size as the wee hamsters, but orders of magnitude more work. But he's so cute!
