It has come to my attention that I should really, really make an effort to get to the Cinema Strange/ Devilish Presley/ Leisur Hive gig on the 23rd of October in London. (For some reason I thought it was midweek). Anyone coming? Oh, and I may require crash space. I'd like to make the other deathrock-oriented gig on the Friday night as well whose lineup escapes me at present, but that will be neither financially nor physically feasible. I'll be stocking up on major merchandise from all 3 bands on the Saturday.

Once again I've got even further behind than usual with email etc. Apparently getting home that half hour later messes up my entire evening. I will adjust, eventually.

I watched the first installment on video this evening.

It wasn't half as bad as I expected it to be. Yes, too Euro-centric, too much with the generalisations & not enough background explanation (such is TV history), but despite the title, the programme made it clear that for many who survived the Black Death, life got better, and also presented the opinion that the Renaissance & other good things in the modern world (such as the idea that one didn't have to stay in the place & station to which they were born) came out of the aftermath.
