Vicarage Tea Party - really
Aug. 21st, 2005 07:36 pmDecided to make the most of the lovely weather and took a drive in the country and ended up at the National Trust gardens in Westbury-on-Severn. Which was nice, but the real high point was that the village church was having a tea-and-cakes fundraiser. With proper china tea sets and homemade cakes to die for. Said church is not only a lovely building, it has the biggest graveyard I've seen attached to a church anywhere.
There was also a stall selling jam, and as I'm a huge sucker for homemade preserves (I've watched my family make them and just don't have that kind of effort in me) I came home with a jar of plum jam. I would have had to try to plum chutney but they only had really big jars left & I didn't have enough money, and probably no use for that much plum chutney.
Going out was of dubious wisdom to begin with, and despite having done next to no walking I am now ready to curl up and die. However, I'll leave you with news that Chopping Block has merchandise! (Scroll down a bit, I can't get it to replicate the page with just the Chopping Block goodies).
