Fantasycon - stupid question

Because we don't get to see each other during the week any more, Jason has decided to come up to Nottingham with me for Fantasycon, but he's unsure whether he wants to buy a ticket for the con itself or not (it's a lot of money for something he's not as interested in as I am).

We were wondering if there's likely to be things to do for non-ticket holders, like a bar in the hotel where people hang out or vendors in non-ticketed areas?

I have no idea, as I've never been to a con before, so I said I'd ask.

General Life Update

PoTC: Dead Man's Chest. Rar! Johnny Depp and a villain who was Cthulu-esque! Overall I think I like the first film better, but it was lots of fun.

I did something I should have done years ago - signed up for an Air Miles account. Must now remember to fill in the Air Miles credit card application form. I pay my credit card bill in full every month, so it doesn't matter to me if the interest rate is uncompetitive.

Bristol Bibliogoths meet yesterday was good fun. Next month they are discussing HP Lovecraft so will attempt to go along if we get back from Canterbury in time.
