I am boycotting British media[1][2] until they either STFU about the McCanns, or report on some actual *news* regarding them.

Just-about-losing it point came early this morning when I was subject to a report on the journalists gathering in their village. It was early so I'm unsure as to whether to blame the BBC or the radio at work.

I haven't dared look at the Canadian media yet in case they're covering it. I think I'll be brushing up my French and reading Le Monde this week.

In continuing not-well-ness, I'm off to bed. How very rock and roll.

[1] Insofar as I can, given that I'm currently working in an office where they play a local "oldies" radio station all day, which is another rant altogether.

[2] Also problematic as the "today" show is the only morning radio option that isn't either too annoying (radios 1 and 2) or puts me back to sleep (radio 3 and classic FM). I need a digital radio for the bedroom.

The McCann's are getting a fair bit of press over here too. Am I the only one who thinks they have "guilt" written all over them? Leaving three children under the age of 5 unsupervised in a hotel room? Who the hell does that kind of thing?

I must admit, I couldn't believe they'd left the kids alone, even if they were going back to check on them. FWIW, that's one of the reasons they're not getting a lot of sympathy from the Portuguese and Spanish, because over there if you go out, you take your children.

I feel very sorry for the McCanns, but I wish they were getting less news coverage.
