So I'm at work this morning, checking my email, when there's an almighty CRACK!!! sound and a funny burning smell. After I'd checked nothing was actually on fire and established that nothing but my PC was non-functional, I rang the helpdesk and was able to say "my computer blew up", and mean it.

It took a few minutes to get over the initial shock, but now I think it's completely hilarious. All day people have been coming in and asking why I'm sitting at a different desk so I kept getting to explain that "my computer blew up".

I'm amused by small things, I know.

ION, it was so cold in the office today that I voluntarily went to a meeting that I could have got out of because it was warmer in the meeting room. There turned out to also be cake in the meeting.

The office hot water bottle will be this season's must-have accessory...

I have one. Tho' I haven't used it yet.

So many meetings would be better with cake.

I have twice !! been using computer equipment when it went POP! SPaRK! puff of smoke...

first time was a monitor
monitor was a goner

second time was the power supply on computer
one antiquated power supply scavenged from a friend, and my frankenputer had a new or should that be an old lease on life again.

Cake makes meetings bearable.

That and the team meetings we have when we all get together and bitch about how crap this place is!
