Dec. 15th, 2007 10:58 pmToday was almost completely a day that didn't happen. I got up at a reasonable hour, but just sat around being - well - blank. It's difficult to explain. Basically, not even with it enough to be in pain (except for the sinus headache) or consciously feel like shit. The grimness of outside didn't help.
Eventually I decided that I had to leave the house, but I wasn't up to Plan A (which was go up to Staple Hill to raid the charity shops). I catch the bus from there every evening and see that there are some big charity shops, but don't have time to look in them. But the bus stop for that route is relatively far away, and the bus doesn't run that often. I have some library books to return, but that's a further walk, as is the one nice-ish cafe in the area. So I took the easiest, though least pleasant, option of catching the main bus up to Kingswood and raiding their charity shops.
Which, compared to the charity shops in the more upmarket area where I work, are something of a disappointment, but I still found some pretty good loot, including a much-needed replacement hat.
Radio 3 is keeping me sane - they're doing a programme on Stockhausen (who died last week), which is experimental and deeply nifty and cool. Very Diamanda Galas in places.
