Allegedly it snowed last night. The only good thing about sleeping till 10:30 this morning is that it had all gone before I got up.

Yes, I still hate snow.

It snowed twice while we were in the pub this afternoon, but thankfully didn't stick around. It's still colder than it's been all winter.

Some of you may remember that the last time I had my hair cut I came home with the promise of some baby Roborovski hamsters. That didn't materialise - my hairdresser found it all a bit stressful (which I get - I find with animals breeding that the less you are able to do, the more stressful it is, and I have more experience with the process than most people) and took them all back to the pet shop. I'd just come to terms with being denied tiny hamsters when I went to pick up a Radio Times yesterday. There was a sign advertising two hamsters free to good homes in the shop window.

By the time I called there was only one left. She's supposed to be about a year old but seems younger. She's called Speedy, which I was going to change but after observation it seems an appropriate name. She has exactly the same tufts of long hair and facial markings as Holly but is a lighter reddish-brown where Holly is dark brown. She's a bit of a biter, but only when someone tries to pick her up, and then only in the "I'm not happy, put me down" way (no blood) rather than the "die puny human" way. I've put my hand in the cage to move things around and she's taken no notice. She's a real attention-seeker though, and comes out of the little house every time someone goes near the cage. She was in a really small cage so I've set her up in one of my larger habitats and she seems to be having a great time. I put her in the ball to run around, and it looks like I've got another one that can see better than science tells us they can - lots of high speed running around, minimal crashing into things at high speed.

And that, folks, is the extent of excitement in my life.

IIRC Hamsters are actually quite suited to snow.

I rarely Recall Correctly, however.

Me too. Well, I don't mind it too much if I can stay home, like yesterday when I had no plans to go outside, snow or no snow, but if I have to go anywhere then I hate it. And I really hate driving in it. Bloody slippery skiddy stuff.

Luckily, today it has mostly gone and the trains don't appear to be to adversely affected, for a change..

I meant to email you; apparently my mum received a reminder from Tabs' old vet that his booster shots are due. I couldn't remember if you'd been given any info on that so thought I would let you know.

We had to have his second set done when we got him so I have it down for being due later this month.
