Convergence Long Beach musings
Mar. 2nd, 2009 04:42 pmI just had a quick look at flights. I last checked back when Long Beach won the bid, and it looked like £650 return direct from Heathrow to LAX. Which, given how much fares were to the east coast last summer, looked like a bargain.
Today Virgin Atlantic is around £550 giving me the exact dates and times I want to travel.
This is still more than I have this month, but brings it in closer to the realms of possibility. More research might find cheaper flights, but I doubt the times will be as convenient, and given that I would be going such a long distance for such a short time, I'm not willing to go the non-direct route.
If I can bear taking the Metro to Long Beach after being on a plane for 12 hours, getting there is practically free.
Of course if I don't get rid of this cold soon I'm going to go completely insane and lose my job, so this is strictly theoretical.
