Back from another fabulous weekend in London.

Kensal Green Cemetery's open day was fun. The cemetery itself isn't much more impressive than any other Victorian garden cemetery, but the tour of the catabombs is all kinds of awesome, and the high goth count was cool. I got a bit sunburned but as I was basically outside all day, it could have been worse.

We had dinner at a Mexican place in Covent Garden. The menu had a whole page of cocktails with rum in. I only had two but that killed my budget (I don't normally drink when I'm out; I simply don't make enough money). As a nominal non-drinker I think two was *quite* enough anyway.

This was followed by a massive brunch in Crouch End today. I am only just now thinking I should eat something else. Which is probably a record for me.

I just hope I can have a slightly more constructive week this week than last week - I'm past being tired of the house being a building site.

I'd love to visit Kensal Green one day. Have you read Necropolis? (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Necropolis-London-Dead-Catharine-Arnold/dp/1416502483/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1246864974&sr=8-3)
I'd recommend it if you haven't.

I saw the reviews when it came out but I haven't had a chance to read it.

On the whole it's pretty good. What with the state of the sewers (there weren't any) and the graveyards in mid-19th century London, being anosmic must've been a blessing back then.
