[tv] The Wire
Sep. 15th, 2009 08:57 pmI've finally finished watching all of The Wire, but some combination of LJ/Firefox/my laptop is refusing to let me use a cut tag, and I know some of you haven't seen it all yet & don't want to see the spoilers., so I can't post my thoughts on it.
Except that it's awesome and it has joined MASH and The West Wing as my favourite TV of all time.
Edit: Spoilers in comments!

Date: 2009-09-16 07:54 am (UTC)My favourite character was Bubbles. This was probably unwise and through the whole thing I more than half expected him to die in some horrible way in every episode. So I was very happy with the way it ended for him.
I also had a soft spot for Omar, but there was no way he was going to come through alive. I was surprised when they got Proprosition Joe. And disappointed that they couldn't bring down Clay Davis.
I nearly fell off the sofa with shock at the Richard Belzer cameo near the end! That also reminded me I must get round to renting Homicide: Life on the Street at some point. (I'm such a sad fan of the John Munch character that I routinely sit through SVU for the 5 minutes that he's usually in it these days, but I've still never seen the series where he was invented).

3) Clay Davis is a politician - of COURSE he got away with it!
4) YAY for Richard Belzer! It's nice when my default icon is in context, too. Homicide is excellent, of course. But Homicide: The Movie is very odd indeed.
