I've been watching Blood Ties on the Horror Channel, about which I may bore you at some point, and discovered that the first book the series is based on lives in my local library, so I popped down to get it.
It's yet another supernatural detective series - in this one, an ex-cop private investigator who is losing her sight to retinosis pigmentosa teams up with a vampire to solve mysteries with supernatural elements. In this one, someone is summoning a demon and it's eating people.
It's set in Toronto, mostly downtown, so the locations are familiar to me.
All in all, it's a lot better than I was expecting. It took two days to read, so is not any great work of literature, but I did enjoy it. And there's only 5 books in the series.
