1. Tricks of the Mind by Derren Brown

I've never seen any of his television shows, but Jason bought the book when it came out and said it was worth reading.  There wasn't much there that I didn't already know, but it did make me laugh out loud more than once, so I suppose it was worth the time it took.  Obviously I applaud anybody who supports a sceptical, scientific world view.

His autobiography - confessions of a conjuror - is well worth reading. His writing style has settled down, and he's a lot less pompous. And he's such a neurotic it's rather sweet.
