[books 2012] January reading

inulroI should have appended this to my last book review, but thanks to that good old swallowing razor blades sensation, I forgot.
I finished 8 books in January, which is one more than my monthly average. This average hasn't gone up since I quit working, and reading more was one of the things that I meant to do with my extra time.
Of those, two were non-fiction, which is also my average. I have been trying to years to raise the ratio of non-fiction, but I am coming to accept that that may be an unrealistic goal.
The Kalevala isn't non-fiction, but it's more of an academic book than some of the non-fiction I read.
Of the rest, one is a really long book, and the rest are the trashy thrillers I survive on.
In terms of tackling the to-read pile, three were books from the pile, one was purchased specially for Bibliogoths, and four came from the library. So not much progress there.
