Nov. 12th, 2003 08:54 pmToday was my second Wednesday of not working. I was rather more productive than last week, but now I'm absolutely exhausted.
Note to self: get smaller pumpkin next year. It's nice having frozen pumpkin year round, but the process of shoving the whole lot through the blender was tedious and tiring.
I attempted pumpkin nut bread and got it nearly right. I didn't get the English flour/baking powder ratio quite right so it didn't rise quite as much as it should have. But it's extremely yummy and not that much work to make, so I will be trying again.
Baking is interesting. Although it wears me out (standing up = bad, stirring stuff also = bad), it really gives me an opportunity to clear my head and think. Of which I don't get enough, being too bloody exhausted, both mentally and physically, all the time. Can't say I had any profound or particularly interesting thoughts, but it was neat to have my brain wander in non-stressed, non-I'm-being-tortured-by-being-kept-awake ways.
I did some even less exciting domestic stuff and read a bit, and now I'm more exhausted than after a normal day at work. But without the irritation. And I've had quality time with the bunnies.
Oh, and I met Neil Gaiman last night. Way cool!
