[Convergence] [Toronto] Help!

Dear lazyweb

Cheapest option for Convergence stuff involves a flight which gets into TO at 3 in the pm of the Thursday.  Am quite invested in being in Buffalo for the pre-party by 7 or 8.

The Interwebz are being completely unhelpful at showing me any ground transportation options for getting to Buffalo from Pearson.  (Obviously there's car rental, which I'm trying to avoid).

Do any of you with local knowledge have any bright ideas?

This is North America! We don't believe in public transit!

There's more than one public transit option from downtown TO. The problem is that TO has word-famously shitty links between downtown and the airport.

With such a tight timeline (it'll take 2 hours to drive and I'd assume that you'll not get out of the airport for at least an hour after you land), you'd have to really luck out on bus schedules. For that or the train you'd probably have to get downtown first, there's an express bus that goes to the Royal York/Union Station for trains but you'd have to go a few subway stops to the main bus depot from there (Dundas St W and Bay). A quick google maps transit directions search says that there is a bus (Megabus) that goes from downtown to Buffalo, and it takes almost 3 hours. Add in about 2 hours to get downtown, and you might be able to make it by 8pm. http://g.co/maps/nzctn should show you the route I got.
Honestly, your best bet is to find someone driving from Toronto who's willing to pick you up from the aiport.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I was just wondering if there was something I was missing.
