inulroThe Today programme just had a fluff piece on the possible contenders for Christmas no.1 single. After wading through the usual dross (the makers of the Pop Idol single had thankfully not sent a copy in!) they played a big chunk of the ?new acoustic cover of "Mad World". (I'm sure I've heard it before, but maybe there's more than one).
It was recorded in an hour and a half in somebody's basement for a sum total of £60.
It's still in my head. It's really very good.
I may participate in an uncharacteristic bout of Good Consumerism and buy it (call it a bid to keep Sir Cliff and assorted children's tunes out of the no. 1 slot). I have to make another post office run, and Virgin is between work and the post office anyway.
