Still here

Someone commented at work today that I'm looking very good considering how much extra time I've been putting in lately. Oddly enough, I feel all right too.

Besides work, this week mostly revolves around vet trips. All the gerbils were unwell on Sunday. I'm afraid it was a one-way trip for Shirley and Louise (they both had distended tummies - they probably had lumps somewhere internal which were blocking up the whole system - and were generally Not At All Well). Stan had an ear infection. The vet had to knock him out to ascertain how bad the problem was (he'd turned his ear inside out & we were unsure as to whether he'd done himself any lasting damage). He's recovered, but we have to take him back for a checkup tomorrow.

I've never had to take a gerbil to the vet before - usually they look not so well one day and are toes up the next.

While doing the jigsaw puzzle, I've been listening to Wishfire a lot. I do hope the Cruxshadows do some UK dates this summer. They better not make me go to Germany...

I almost saw the Cruxshadows once. It was at C5. I went out for dinner, lost track of time, and arrived just in time to catch the last half of the last song.

Bummer.

I've seen them twice, and they were utterly wonderful both times. The second time I was really close to ditching work the next day to fly up to Edinburgh to see them again (with EasyJet flights, it's not like it would have cost much money) but after a couple hours of furious bouncing around, I couldn't move the next day.

Last summer there wasn't a date that was do-able for me, even though there was a substantial UK tour, and I'm still kicking myself for that.
