My passport came in the post this morning!

I am well impressed. I sent off the application a week ago today, so they won't have got it until Wednesday. The web site says they work to a 4-week turnaround time but that they prioritise you if you send proof that you are travelling soon. There's no way they can have checked my references and all that stuff.

That's a huge source of stress that has been removed.

I'm convinced that this is the reason the High Commission has such short hours for the public & makes phoning them such a pain.

Gives them time to get the important work done.

Especially when I consider how much of my day is spent talking to people who don't need to call me.
