Corporate whoredom, Day 2
Sep. 7th, 2004 08:50 pmSo I've been employed out in the Real World for 2 days. It's - OK. There's good things, like the free (good) coffee and tea, and there are good fairies who do many of the menial tasks I've always had to do myself in the past. The people are nice but very normal. It's a cube farm. The work does not look like it's going to be very interesting, but I think they're easing me in slowly and eventually I'll have a lot of responsibility. I hope, otherwise it's going to get very dull very quickly.
I've been asked to join the company book group, which could be fun. I have to read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time for some as yet unspecified date. Seeing as it's the only thing that I've caught part of as "book at bedtime" on Radio 4 that I've been interested in pursuing further, I'll take them up on it and see what it's like.
Despite starting later and having a shorter working day than I'm used to, I'm absolutely exhausted. Thus I've been skimming LJ, so if there's anything you think I need to know, email me or leave a comment.
And it's only Tuesday. I just hope I make it through the week without collapsing.
