(no subject)

Between the Ikea riot and the fact that a Robbie Williams song has been voted the best British single of the last 25 years, it's been a "get me off this island!" day.

The former was something I thought I hallucinated while half awake listening to the Today show this morning, because we drove past the Edmonton Ikea on Saturday. No, they really did report on it for nearly half an hour.

You missed out the totally over the top coverage about Charles and Camilla getting engaged. It seemed BBC1 felt that was reason enough for an extended news! I saw them asking peoples opinions on it.. didnt see anyone saying "I dont give a damn what they do!"

I missed out on the BBC coverage, but got to listen to my co-workers talk about it all afternoon.

At one point I was flicking channels and only a single one was not covering the bloody thing! I mean, good luck to them, but so what? I do wonder when they have these "ask the public" things, I mean no-one ever seems to say anything in line with my way of thinking (okay, that's usually "get out my way way you retard, you're standing between me and my pie shop and that's dangerous!").

I reckon Charlyboy is actually Sweedish and engineered the whole thing to cover up for the IKEA disaster ;)

The Ikea riot is like something out of JG Ballard, isn't it?

Or something. It is definitely the sort of thing that, when heard when one is half awake, one consigns to "my subconscious doing weird shit again".
