Not really.
I just discovered that my preferred way of getting to France with the car, the Newhaven-Dieppe hoverspeed, no longer exists. None of the ferry websites make checking out your options easy or fast. Tomorrow I'm off to Thomas Cook to see if they still handle ferry bookings, because if they do they'll have printed matter that makes comparison of times, fares etc easy.

Date: 2005-04-12 04:43 pm (UTC)The other problem is, we live in the west of England and are travelling to the west of France. Dover-Calais therefore involves rather more driving.
We are being indecisive between Portsmouth-LeHavre (cheap, but 9 hours on the boat), or Portsmouth-Cherbourg (twice the price, only 6 1/2 hours on the boat). Both are overnights so we can go straight from work on the Friday.
