Jul. 24th, 2005 07:47 pmI have gone splat quite spectacularly. The timing could be better - it's the busiest time of the year at the animal shelter as we do boarding when people go on holiday to raise money. On Wednesday one of the co-ordinators was rushed into hospital for emergency surgery and it will be another six weeks before she's up and around. Leaving me in charge of Saturdays. We don't have to stay all day but will be there for considerably more time than is the case when I'm not in charge.
Things were not helped by the presence of said co-ordinator's pet chicken which is also in our care for the time being.
lastaii has already posted about this, with pictures and video, here. It also did not help that my brain was having an extremely fuzzy day. Fortunately it didn't lead to any leaving the cage open incidents. I hope. Nobody's called to yell at me, so I think I'm OK.
Painkillers. They'd be my friend, if they were working.
Things aren't all bad. I found a new web comic: Todd and Penguin. I haven't had time to read it all yet (it's been going since early 2001), but I love what I've seen so far. It's funny and sad and cute all at once. The 9/11 strip is particularly moving.
It was linked from Chopping Block, which is another worthy web comic. But sick and depraved rather than cute & sad. Hilarious though.
