I'm completely broke, and Eurostar are having a massive August seat sale to Paris.

(I know Paris is hot & largely deserted in August, but if I just want to go and wander around for a few days, or even bugger off to Chartres, that doesn't matter).

£59 return. Which you can always do, actually (last time I paid £69 return because I wanted to get to Paris earlier than the cheap train got there, but maybe there's more selection of trains in the sale. I got the email but haven't actually looked at the site.

I *heart* Eurostar, as it doesn't involve either my sinuses exploding on the plane or generally wanting to die on the boat.

Tea Party: Probably. I'm still trying to kid myself that I'll find some money and go away for the bank holiday weekend. Riiight.

That is extremely cheap - will prod Dave and see if he is willing. We would have to take Felix as well and I am not sure that he is ready to go on trips abroad yet. :/

I love Eurostar - it is so much better than stupid old planes!

I really hope that you can both come over - it looks like some really nice people will be in attendance and I would really like to get to know you better as I love knowing people that I can talk to about history stuff - there aren't enough of us about!
