I called in bored today and have had an incredibly productive day at home. I achieved 100% of the things on my to-do list, which is just short of a miracle and is certainly a first. Usually when I take a day off to do stuff around the house I run out of steam at lunch time.

I did the most half-assed job ever of planting out my new plants, yet my back is still complaining. Still, if they didn't get done today they weren't likely to get done at all, and if they die I can blame the fact that they were on clearance at B&Q and therefore at death's door when I purchased them.

The Mouse Learning Curve: Mice like pasta, but not as much as they like bread, and they're really not keen on plums at all. Another one has named herself and is called Patch. If I can ever capture her again and take a picture, it will be obvious why.

I watched something that was on BBC2 the other night: How to Rescue a House, and I was most impressed. It's something I always wanted to do but can't for health reasons.
The lady who was wanting to buy and restore a derelict house was very sensible and had realistic expectations. It also covered an area, Toxteth in Liverpool, that I've been to and mourned all the beautiful empty properties. When a housing association restored one of the buildings opposite the Anglican cathedral & turned it into flats, I was quite close to buying one and commuting to Manchester. And I Don't Do Commuting.

Unfortunately, even though I've not gone to work today, it's still 8:00 on a Friday night and I'm ready to go to sleep.
