inulroBristol retail interest
Remember how I went a bit nuts in the New England Candle Company the other week in Boston? The lady at the till said she thought they had shops in Britain, which I took to mean "there's probably one tucked away in Covent Garden somewhere".
One has opened in the Galleries in Bristol! I wonder if it's just for Christmas though, as the shop isn't done up nicely at all (the one in the States was one of the most beautiful stores I've ever been in), it just has really basic white shelving and walls. They stock most of the range of candles, but not the cracked glass candle holders that I desperately wanted but were too big, heavy & fragile to bring back. Prices were somewhat more expensive than the US but there were better deals for bulk buys.
Mexican film interest
Tomorrow's free foreign film DVD with the Independent is Like Water for Chocolate. It's an excellent film even for the rest of you who aren't desperately trying to learn Spanish. I'll be making sure I purchase mine before I go to work.
Anxiety, how I didn't miss you
What I really need to do this weekend is sleep, because I'm still basically missing one night's worth. Preferably for the entire time except for my shift at the shelter tomorrow morning. That would, of course, require a lack of fireworks (just because it's daylight doesn't mean they stop, nor will they stop just because bonfire night is over).
I thought when I told the NHS what to do with their job I'd never have to see anxiety meds ever again. By Sunday I may have revised that if I haven't had some sleep.
