Sudden attack of competence
Mar. 1st, 2006 06:10 pmYesterday, I booked us a room in the official hotel for Beyond the Veil. Last year we had a fabulous time despite me screwing up and having to stay somewhere else, but figured the experience would be enhanced by staying with everyone else this year.
While I'm on a roll with this almost feeling like a human being experience, I need to do two things:
1. Sell some of my stuff. Ebay's too much hassle so I think
niceboots will do. I have just developed the need to buy myself some new toys (the "bug" digital radio) and an mp3 player, and there's no other money available.
2. Lose some weight. My left knee has been giving me non-stop trouble since we went to the States in October. I don't have time to deal with the NHS right now, and it's quite likely to be developing osteoarthritis. The single most important factor with most knee problems is weight. It doesn't really matter that I'm not overweight to look at - my skeleton clearly can't handle the size I am now. Also, as things are, it's mostly annoyingly stuff and occasionally painful, but I can still move. I really don't want to get into the catch-22 of not being able to exercise because of the pain. At least temporarily, I have more energy so I can walk further than I've been able to for a long time (thus the sudden need for better portable entertainment options). I just wish the weather would warm up a bit.
3. Do something about the to-read pile.
