It was too hot to cook or think last night, so we went out for faux Mexican and to see Over the Hedge. While a few of the jokes were clearly aimed at five year olds, it's some pretty funny shit. The end, in particular, had me laughing harder than I've laughed in a long time. There's an over-acting possum voiced by William Shatner, and the music at the end of the credits is a cover of the Clash's "Lost in the Supermarket"[1] with a horn section. What more could you want.

Highly recommended.

I also saw the trailer for the new Aardman animation - Flushed Away. It looks like it's going to be lots of fun.

[1] Great song, but I've always felt the original lacked something. That would be a horn section.

It always amazes (and delights) me how William Shatner can take the piss out of himself :-)

Where did you go for the faux Mexican, and was it any good?

The faux Mexican in the same complex as the Showcase in St Phillips. (The only other food place there is McDonalds). It's not bad, but it wasn't particularly good either.

Oh well - if I'm ever at the Showcase I might give it a go. I can't think of anywhere local that does decent Mexican food.
