inulroWoke up this morning to the Today programme telling me that Warren Jeffs has been arrested in Nevada. There's a decent summary of the situation here, and articles in the Guardian and the Globe (and probably elsewhere, but I was busy today).
That has made my day. Interestingly, according to the Globe & Mail, he was not only pulled over driving a brand new expensive car, it was full of stuff like Ipods. He doesn't even allow his followers to read newspapers, so what was he doing with a car full of fancy electronics?
Every source I've looked at has widely differing estimates of how many wives & children he has.
The big question is how he evaded capture for so long. The answer is he has a number of not-unlike-Waco compounds, and the authorities didn't want a repeat of that.
