I've been a very bad girl
Mar. 13th, 2003 01:33 pmI have no willpower. But we already knew that.
Yesterday, I had to go to the pharmacy to get some more Nytol. The pharmacy is two doors down from the charity shop, so I had a look round. Somebody had donated a pile of what I refer to as "real" books. I was very good and left them be - after all, the pile - o- books I haven't read yet is intimidating already. But it was bothering me.
Today I had to go to town to return my library books. I got off the bus on the way home and stopped in at the charity shop. I ended up with 5 books, one of which I've already read, but The Poisonwood Bible rocked my world and I wanted my own copy (hell, it prompted me to go out and buy a factual book about the clusterfuck that was the Belgians pulling out of the Congo). I also scored a copy of one of the PD James books I haven't read. The other three were just random books that looked interesting. They were cheap, so if they suck, they just go straight back where they came from.
Further, in the corrupting the young department, last night I fed the rat family my leftover curry. (I fed the grumpy old male rats curry too, but they're used to it). I suspect that's the equivalent of giving a 6-year old crack cocaine, but it's getting really expensive to feed the little locusts. Having said, that, it's all gone this morning, so they obviously liked it.
