Really nifty installation art made with spools of thread, which look remarkably like the Old Masters they copy when viewed through a lens. Apparently it's all about how images are projected upside down on our retinas.

My favourite is the one that appeared in New Scientist, based on Man in a Red Turban by van Eyck, about 2/3 of the way down this page.

In other news, feeling like crap on Monday wasn't disorientation courtesy of the clocks going forward, it was me coming down with a virus. The only down side to temping is that one doesn't get paid if one doesn't turn up, so I do hope I'm better tomorrow.

Pixilation with thread. 's just one step off cross-stitch init?
Noting that they are hing on chains, I'm curious as to whether one could ripple them like a bead curtain, which might make them more interesting.
