I've got a headache and I'm decidedly nauseous. Which I'd just chalk up to being tired and having read on the bus home (I can read on the bus in the morning, but not in the evening), except that:
There's been a horrible stomach bug going around Bristol in general and my place of work in particular. One of the wards has been closed to admissions all week. It's the small children's ward, and gets closed due to stomach viruses several times a year, so I thought nothing of it. Toddlers are mucky creatures with incomplete immune systems.
Today we all had a good laugh because one of the doctors (not one I ever see) has succumbed to the virus and gone home. This has never happened before, not in my time anyway. (Result: they may have to close the whole hospital to admissions). That is, we laughed until one of our doctors went from being a bit tired and headachey to throwing up and being decidedly green in the space of less than an hour. Infection Control have told her she needs to stay home for at least 48 hours.
I really, really hope this is psychosomatic. Partly because I was aiming to get through two weeks without having any time off, but also because it's Exile weekend.
If I end up not able to go to Exile because I'm too busy being at home puking, I'm going to be *seriously* not impressed.
