An observation
Apr. 17th, 2007 06:27 pmToday, I put away the winter stuff and got out the summer things.
Not only do I have enough summer clothes and shoes for the first time in my life (that frenzy of clothes-buying before I went to Argentina last year paid off), I actually have more summer than winter clothes.
This is mainly a Good Thing, as it nicely coincides with my decision to stop missing summer - there's not much I can't do with the assistance of Factor Goth sun block, a hat, prescription sunglasses and a large bottle of water.
I draw the line at parasols - they're expensive and aren't much good for anything remotely active anyway.

Date: 2007-04-17 06:20 pm (UTC)... Unless you're a crazy idiot like me and decides to re-cover a kiddie umbrella with some left over fabric [just stitching it over the existing stuff on both sides was good enough]. The best and most amazing part was that it actually works [I made it half thinking "this'll never work but I'll never know it'll never work unless I try and what the heck else I am going to do with a spare kids umbrella anyway?"]
However, re-covered kiddie brolly rather cuts into the "pretty" picture and results in more of a "wtf are you carrying?" one.
But! Since it keeps me from having to put on sunscreen [hate sunscreen!] if I'm going for a long walk [and since I'm pretty much never in the sun unless I'm walking somewhere I don't need to worry about it being useless for anything more active].
