Could someone please explain

why after two days of not using my voice, my throat is more sore than ever and my glands more swollen and ridiculously painful.

I should really buy shares in Lemsip.

Tonsilitis? That's what it was the last time I had a case of 'flu that hung around for a suspiciously long time. Gawp down throat and check for white spots. If so, the little bastards die satisfyingly quickly under antibiotics.

I would say I don't have tonsils, but I think I'm one of the freaks in whom they grew back.

If it's anything like the virus I had - which started out as a virus and then developed a throat infection on top - ffs go and get antibotics. My gums and tongue were affected too and I couldn't eat for days. You don't want to let it get out of control!

It's somewhat better this morning, and antibiotics are Not My Friend, so I'm going to wait till Monday.

Sore throat - chloroseptic anaesthetic spray. Or gargle with soluable asprin?
