I stopped feeling like I wanted to die for long enough to finally watch Chinatown today (I found something on the to-watch pile without subtitles). I always thought it was one of those things I should see rather than something I'd really enjoy.
My bad. Stylish film noir with a compelling mystery. Might even purchase the DVD one day.
Is it based on a book? If it is, I'd read it.
Some time ago Jason admitted to never having seen Betty Blue, so I put it on our rental list. Unbeknownst to me, our rental company carry the Director's Cut. I didn't remember it being 3 hours long, or indeed a lot of the content (I last saw it in 1988 and I don't remember last week; but usually things come back to me when I see the film again). I gotta say that extra hour did not do it any favours, thus confirming my opinion of Directors' Cuts in general, which is that it was usually on the cutting room floor for a reason.
When I've found myself without anything else to do lately I've been re-watching season 2 of Buffy. It's always been my favourite season, and watching it after not having seen any Buffy at all for a few years did not disappoint.
I did have more articulate things to say about it, but my head hurts now. Or maybe I just want to illustrate how pathetic my life has become.
