I had a thoroughly nice day off on Friday. I'm afraid the most rock and roll part of the day was getting my hair done (for which anyone with taste will thank me - my roots were getting pretty bad). Mostly I read a bit, did a bit of laundry, and cleaned parts of the kitchen that never get done. I was tired of sticking to the floor.

It was very nice to have more than 10 minutes to myself this week. I really want to work 4 days a week. The bank says otherwise. I may cancel the rest of my road trips for the year and pay off my loan extra early so that cutting back my hours is a realistic prospect.

Failed to make it to Entropy on Saturday night, but spent the evening with friends in Bath, which is a step up from my usual excuse for missing clubs.

Yesterday I had another domestic session and went outside and painted another dining room chair purple. That makes 3 in as many summers now. And they all need another coat. At this rate the house will be paid for before I finish, as the seats all need re-covering too. Despite not starting until 2:30, covering myself in Factor 25 and sitting in the shade, my arms are a bit pink today. I suspect my sun block may be a bit past its use-by date (I don't get outside much).

I have not been too hot, but the pollen count is so high that even I have had itchy eyes all weekend.

In another "proud to be Canadian" moment, Canada (well, at least the province of Ontario) moves one step closer to legalising gay marriage It is hardly surprising that Alberta is going to go against this. I wish they'd just annexe the whole province to Texas and get it over with. Yes, I have issues with Alberta.

Don't worry about Alberta. They'll hold out for a while. Then somebody will realize that a million-dollar industry is travelling out of the province, and they will quickly change the rules while blaming the federal government.

[livejournal.com profile] reddragdiva and I use Boots' Soltan Kids SPF 35, which is water resistant and more importantly hypoallergenic; it smells like passionfruit.
