Merry Christmas everyone!
Dec. 25th, 2007 09:47 pmI feel less lurgy-ridden today, but have taken no chances and stayed on the sofa watching DVDs. And eaten far too much. Most of the food came from Marks & Spencer - we only went to get Jason his pre-prepared chicken that goes straight in the oven but came out with quite a lot - things like stollen and the cheese selection were only a little more expensive than regular supermarkets, but are so much better.
At my birthday, I told my mother to buy me CDs and DVDs from my wish list as I have quite a big enough mountain of books. As that was more than a week ago, she forgot and now the book mountain is significantly higher (I started the wish list so that she could spend as much or as little as she likes and she always gets carried away). I'm not complaining because it's all stuff I really wanted and will be skipping to the front of the queue. If I made New Year's resolutions there'd be something about attacking the pile and not taking books out of the library, but I recall that I made such a resolution mid-year and it didn't work then either.
I got a really cool amber ring from my brother and his fiancee. She works in an art gallery and it's from their gift shop; clearly she has taste.
This is the most boring post ever. I really do apologise. On the other hand I have had no Xmas travel stress or Family Drama, and my sympathies to those of you who have endured one or both.
Holly the hamster appears to come in two modes - sleeping in a dark corner and ON CRACK! No photos yet.
