[film] Sweeney Todd
Feb. 6th, 2008 10:23 pmJohnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter give inspired, demented performances. It's Tim Burton so the visuals are, not surprisingly, right up my street. There's an interesting use of windows and mirrors to show points of view. The songs and orchestration are technically superior (though I still have some problems getting past the whole "musical" experience).
BUT like most films these days, it's a touch too long and it loses momentum in places.
