It't like spring! Yay!

Yesterday was weird. I felt really good (see above), except I had a splitting headache that wouldn't go away. I didn't let that stop me. Went into town to put a cheque in the bank, and then had a look around. H&M is full ot EMO-kid clothes, and I was going to go back and try some on after lunch, but I had a major shopping accident in the store that used to be Virgin (it's still a music-and-DVD shop but isn't called Virgin any more - is that nationwide, or just this one?) and thus all the money has been spent on music instead of the clothes.

That, in a nutshell, is the story of my life.

If I hadn't already known Control is out on DVD on Monday, it would have been obvious from the all-things-JD-related display in the front of the shop. I have treated myself to Touching from a Distance which, believe it or not, I have never read. I know the last thing I need is another book, but it looks like it'll take about 2 hours to read.

I was being reasonably well behaved till I found the random excerpts from the Tom Waits back catalogue for cheap, and then things got out of hand. Still, the ability to do this is why one goes to work every day.

Despite the continued headache after I got home, I went outside and chopped down a lot of greenery in the back yard. I then sat down and read a lot. Which I'm not normally able to do with a headache.

In more JD-related matters, finally watched that BBC4 documentary on Factory Records (it was on BBC2 this week). I hadn't bothered at the time because my head wasn't in the right place, and I didn't think there'd be much new in that. There wasn't, but a) JD footage. Squee! and b) I cannot believe I've never heard the story about the sandpaper record sleeve before.

Today was Bibliogoths, which is always fun, and everybody enjoyed the book. J-P and [livejournal.com profile] badnewswade agreed about something and the world didn't end.

In the good news department, Employment Limbo is finally at an end and I have to go for induction tomorrow. The bad news is it's up at Southmead hospital. I'll figure out exactly how to get there in the morning.
