Toronto folk - question about hotels

My parents have a stopover in TO after my brother's wedding and need a place to stay. I have no clue whatsoever about paying to sleep in TO. Any recommendations for cheap places to sleep? I've found some decent deals at the Days Inn on Roncesvalles but I was wondering if there's anything more central that's affordable?

They may be parents but their standards aren't all that high. More accurately, my mother will complain no matter how nice the hotel/neighbourhood, and my dad won't give a crap no matter how bad it is.

The Alexandra and The Grange are decent, cheap & well located (Queen & Bathurst).
