Just got back from seeing this film. It's excellent, plus the music is by Lisa Gerrard.

Pre-film I got my nachos fix so I feel better now.

Okay, that's enough people with good taste that have said as much. Now, when do I get the opportunity? I mean, it surely can't be on for long, given that it doesn't sound anything like your typical Hollywood tat.

It's only on for two weeks at the Watershed here in Bristol, and it's nearly through week one.

That's what I was afraid of - lots of people on my friends list have enjoyed it, and I've not noticed it being hyped to death in the media, so it must be good, and therefore it will be on for just a short time before disappearing into oblivion. Grrr. Not that I'm feeling especially cynical this morning, no.

I do, actually. I was a bit put off by the review in either the Guardian or BBC online (can't remember which). They gave it very few stars which I thought was because it was fantasy and a cartoon, but the review itself contained some probably valid criticisms.

Then I decided it'll probably be fun even if it's not good, so yeah, I'd be willing.

Also note: have been meaning to re-read the Mabinogion since I was an undergrad and didn't have time to enjoy it properly as it was for class.
